As a Physiotherapist, I have a passion for staying fit and healthy, and ultimately helping older adults do the same. I’ve been a registered Physiotherapist since 2003 and am co-founder of PhysioCare at Home, an in-home physiotherapy company.

In this video fitness program specifically designed for older adults, Jillian sets out to challenge you in a variety of ways, targeting strength, fitness, balance, posture, and spinal health.
You'll begin your fitness journey by taking a Self-Assessment & learning Foundational Exercises. From there you're ready to begin your 8-week STANDING STRONG Fitness Program.
Each video covers a warm-up, functional & balance exercises, impact & resistance training, and a cool down with a focus on posture and stretching. Right from the beginning you will experience that Progress IS Possible!

4 'Before You Start' Videos
Jillian will give you practical tips to help you get the most out of the STANDING STRONG Fitness Program, including how to set up your space, how to choose the right level of resistance bands or weights & how to know how hard to work during exercise.
3 Fitness Self-Assessment Videos
Jillian will guide you through three practical and easy-to-follow tests to see how you measure up in your cardiovascular endurance, functional leg strength and balance. You can do this before you begin & after you complete the program to see how much progress you've made.
6 Foundational Exercise Videos
Jillian will give you practical tips & guidance to safely & effectively perform important movements like the hip hinge, squat, floor transfer, & supported jumping. You will also learn important techniques to engage your core muscles & maintain proper posture.
16 Unique Work-out Videos
Each work-out video is uniquely designed for older adults & starts with a warm up, then a functional exercise, balance work, a strength & cardio section and then finishes off with a cool down focused on posture & flexibility. Every work-out is about 40 minutes in length and builds upon the previous one, progressing in challenge throughout the 8 weeks. This program is perfect for both beginners and moderately active older adults. Jillian provides opportunities to both modify exercises and challenge yourself every step of the way.
How do you know if this program is right for you?
This Program is Right for You if:
- You're an older adult living independently in the community in your own home, condo or apartment.
- You want to improve your balance, mobility & strength and you have access to a computer, laptop or tablet!
- You’ve been advised to exercise regularly AND you’ve been cleared for exercise by your health care provider.
- You're looking for a safe, guided, evidence-based program.
- You may have a diagnosis of osteopenia or osteoporosis (I.e. thinning bone/low bone mineral density).
- You do not rely heavily on a walking aid (I.e. a walker).
- You do not have any significant pain or frequent falls, or other major limitations regarding exercise.
- You do not have any ACUTE or RECENT fractures/broken bones, injuries, surgeries, or unmanaged health concerns.
- You do not have chest pain/angina during exercise, or severe weakness on one side of your body.
- You do not have any severe bony/postural deformities preventing you from safely exercising.
